The Ministry of the Library

The goal of the Chinese Christian Library is to become a "Christian Public Library" for 200 Chinese churches and Christian institutions in Australia and to provide "shared workshops" to build up Christian and faith seeker to know more about God.

Milestones of Library

 

2014

●The Library was incorporated as the Chinese Christian Library Limited under the Australian Securities and Investment (ASIC).

●The Library was approved by Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission (ACNC) as a charitable and non-profit organization.

●Pastor Zion Li , Mrs. Betty Yung , Dr. Yung Kwong Ming, and Mr. Jeff Cai pledged to serve as library directors. Rev Charles Chung and Rev Dr Dennis Law pledged to serve as honorary advisors.

2015

●The library was approved by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR).  All deductions of A$ 2 or above are tax deductible

●The library officially opened on 7 February, which opened up a new page in history.

●Grace Wong became the library administrate assistant.

●Set up a book stand at “Rev. Enoch Lam Evangelical Meeting” to introduce the library.

●An article to introduce the "Library" was published in the“Herald Monthly”.

●Set up a book stand at the “Messiah Music Evangelical Meeting”to introduce the library.

●Organized an “On-line Writing Workshop” by Ms. Susie Su.

●The library has been approved by Centrelink as an approved voluntary work organization. Any Christians who are Newstart Allowance recipients can apply for volunteer work in the library without having to find another job.

2016

●Frances Wong became a volunteer administrate assistant.

2017

●The library has been approved by the Sydney Chinese Christian Churches Association as an associate member.

●Christian Chinese Library commenced its Facebook page.

●Christian Chinese Library commenced its Youtube page.

2019

●Dr. Lee Lau pledged to serve as a director.

●Mrs. Catherine Liu pledged to serve as a director.

●Christian Chinese Library started a "mobile version app".

●Held a talk‘In-depth Spiritual exploration on the Mountain’by Dr. Winnie Tse.

●Held ‘A development course for believers without dos and donts’ by Dr. Lee Lau.

●Held ‘Undertaking a difficult a business for God as a businessman”by Dr. Michael Lam.

●Rev Vincent Cheung of the Chinese and Australian Baptist Church West Ryde pledged to serve as a honorary advisor of the library.

●Set up a book stand at “Walk with God-in the Dark and Absurd Generation”talk to introduce the library.

●Pastor Hung Kwok Chi of the Living Stone Evangelical Free Church of Australia pledged to serve as a honorary advisor of the library.

●Rev Benny Ho of St. Thomas Anglican Church Burwood pledged to serve as an honorary advisor of the Library.

●Rev. Min Yaw Law of Cabramatta Anglican Church pledged to serve as Library Honorary Advisor.

2020

●Ms. Frances Wong pledged to serve as a library director.

●The library visited “GETS Theological Seminary” to introduce the library.

●Rev. Albert Leung of Hurstville Anglican Church pledged to serve as a honorary advisor of the library.

●Pastor Cecil Lo of Gracious Glory Christian Church pledged to serve as a honorary advisor of the library.

●Rev. Faye Lo of CECA MosaiX Missional Church pledged to serve as a honorary advisor of the library.

●Mr. Keith Chow, solicitor, pledged to serve as a honorary advisor of the library.

●Rev. Minh Tuyet Dinh pledged to serve as a honorary advisor of the library.

●The Fair Trading Department approves the application of the Christian Chinese Library for Charitable Fundraising Authority for crowdfunding.

●Christian Chinese Library was authorized to hold the "Building Digital Skill Program" for the Age 50+ by Be Connected Network and there are 34 participants joining the program.

●Rev. Patrick Suen pledged to serve as a honorary advisor of the library.

2021

●The Christian Chinese Library established a Non-Hong Kong Company in Hong Kong which had been approved by the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department to become a charitable and non-profit organization. All donations from Hong Kong are tax deductible.

●The Christian Chinese Library expanded in response to needs and prepared to purchase a property, and started crowdfunding .

●The library redesigned a modern website

●Mr. Andrew Ngai pledged to serve as a library director.

●The Christian Chinese Library has decided to start in 2021. As long as readers pay the round-trip postage A$25, the library can post the borrowed books to Australia so that readers living in remote areas can read them.

●The Christian Chinese Library has decided to give away more than two duplicate books in the library for free to individual readers from 2021, in order to encourage "re-reading of good books".
